Many people have kindly asked what is customary (especially if this is your first Bat Mitzvah!).

It’s often traditional to give a monetary gift in increments of $18 (chai, meaning “life”). That said, please know there is absolutely no expectation of a gift. We are simply delighted to share this day with you and to make memories together.

If you would like to make a donation in honor of Sloan’s Bat Mitzvah, her Mitzvah Project has focused on supporting the art program at Bet Ha’am. Sloan feels strongly that the school is deserving of financial support, and that the study spaces — especially the art room — should have the resources they need to be joyful places of culture and learning.
